Primo Design

The Primo design has European registered protection, meaning this smart design belongs to us. Its seamless, curved dome ensures even heat dispersion throughout the oven chamber, whilst the dense base absorbs and re-radiates heat to ensure precise cooking environments.

Flue-less design

Placing a flue in an oven of this size would result in significant heat loss, meaning longer heat up times, difficulty approaching and maintaining high temperatures and greater fuel consumption.

The Primo Oven design and dimensions balances convection theory with oxygen circulation to give you a fuel efficient, reliable wood fired oven with fast heat up times.

The Primo Oven has low smoke emissions, and burns smoke free when used in accordance to the Primo Manual.

Primo Composition

Micromesh Technology

The Primo Oven is made from a mix of reclaimed insulating aggregate and a refractory binding material, this ensures your oven has excellent thermal properties whilst being environmentally conscious.

The Primo Oven's thickness is a balance between excellent heat retention and fast heat up times, whilst a carefully balanced alumina content contributes to the ovens porosity and overall its cooking environment.

Exclusive to the Stone Bake Oven Company the Primo Oven utilises re-enforcement technology to ensure your oven can expand and contract during the oven's heat cycles, whilst still retaining its structural integrity and strength.

To learn how the Stone Bake Oven Company stays environmentally friendly see our Environment Page.

Primo Installation

The Primo Oven is delivered in three parts, the dome (1 part) and the two part base. These simply fit together without the need for adhesive.

When installing your Primo Oven, building work is optional. You can assemble the oven in its core form and use the oven immediately, placed on the Stone Bake Oven Company Stainless Steel stand. The Stone Bake Oven Company recommend you use the Stone Bake Oven Sealant twice per year to keep your oven water repellent and to protect it from the elements.

Alternatively you can 'build in' your Primo Oven by insulating and rendering it, see below customising your Primo Oven.

Customising your Primo Oven

Building your own oven base can be simple, simply use brick or block work, ensure the oven base is stable and supports the oven completely.

'Building in' (insulating and rendering/finishing) your oven can have many benefits; from a customised design, to protection from elements and increased insulation giving greater heat retention and cooking ability. For Primo build pictures see the Stone Bake Gallery. For more information on how to insulate and render your Primo Oven contact the Stone Bake Team.

Once you have built an enclosure around the Primo Oven there is no need to weather-proof your oven. Adding an insulating enclosure will add to the Primo's thermal qualities and boost fuel efficiency. Heat retention of the Primo Oven will advance from 4+ hours to over 10+ hours and increase the cooking diversity of your Primo Oven.
