Yes. Your wood fired oven can cook a broad range of foods from any season. We’ve cooked Christmas Dinner in ours!
The build your own oven kits do not require weather- proofing, as the enclosure it is in should be weather-proofed. Make sure you protect your ready to go oven by applying the Stone Bake Sealant, or alternatively further insulate it and build it in it to your own design, for a weather-proofed oven. Ask us for more details. Ensure you adhere to slower firing techniques in the wintertime.
Our ovens are safe to be used in all weathers. We have customers in Northern Scotland and Switzerland who use their ovens in the snow with no issues at all! We recommend weather-proofing your ready to go oven, using our Stone Bake Sealant. During colder months ensure you adhere to slower firing times, see the oven manual.
Depending on which oven you choose, it is possible to lift all oven models with between 2-4 people. The ovens are modular and come in pieces. For oven specific weights, refer to the oven Owner’s Manual or product page. Remember to take care when lifting and refer to the oven manual for guidance.
We are so confident you’ll love our ovens we guarantee satisfaction. The Stone Bake Team are always on hand to answer questions and ensure you get the most from your wood fired oven. If you change your mind after oven purchase, simply refer to our 30-day returns policy.
Each oven of the ‘at home’ range comes with a 1 year warranty. Apart from this our ovens are protected against damage in transit by haulage insurance. Ensure you check the oven over before signing for it on your chosen day of delivery. If any damage is present, return it with the driver and contact The Stone Bake Oven Company immediately to report damages and to order a replacement.
Our oven range is really easy to use, and after a little practice, you’ll be a pro in no time! For oven specific heat up times, please refer to the Our Ovens for specifications.
Please note that heat up times depend on outdoor environment temperature and moisture content of the oven.
The Stone Bake Oven Company recommend you burn only un-treated medium to hard woods in your wood fired oven. This ensures less smoke, higher temperatures and greater efficiency, for effective, clean cooking. For our recommended Capo Forresta compressed beech briquettes, visit our online shop. Alternatively, you can source kiln dried wood from your local supplier of fire wood.
Our wood fired ovens are designed for the sole purpose of cooking and heat retention meaning our ovens are as efficient as can be. Depending on the size of the oven, you can fire up the oven for 2-3 sessions using just one box of Cappo Forresta (available on our online shop) which equates to around £4 per session. If using kiln dried wood, you can cook a full roast for less than £3.
Delivery times for the residential oven range are currently 2-3 weeks or less, depending on stock levels. Contact us if you are after a faster turn around and we will do our best to accommodate you. Delivery costs between £49.99 – £99.99* depending on which oven product you choose. – the courier network dictates these prices. AM or PM deliveries are available at an additional £10 subject to a postcode check. Please call us on 01425 204985 for more details. AM deliveries take place from 9am-1pm and PM deliveries are 1pm-5pm.

After purchase, the Stone Bake Oven team will get in contact to arrange a day that suits you for delivery. Delivery is Mon-Fri between 9-5:30pm, a person must be present to sign for it. Please see our delivery specifications for additional information.
When heating a wood fired oven from cold, temporarily the oven will smoke. To reduce this period burn only Capo Forresta beech briquettes (available on our online shop) or kiln dried wood in your oven and refer to your oven manual. Once the oven approaches optimum cooking temperature, it will be relatively smokeless.

The residential ovens are economical enough to cook for 1 person or have the capabilities to cater for a much larger party. Capable of cooking a range of dishes including; Pizza (taking less than 90 seconds to cook), roasts, casseroles, breads, desserts and much more. For cooking capacities, please refer to Our Oven’s page for the full oven specifications. Catering for large groups of family and friends becomes easier and a lot more fun with a wood fired oven.
With a wood fired oven, the possibilities are endless, from savoury dishes like poultry, game, beef and fish, to sweet dishes including baked desserts, you are only limited by your imagination. You can bake breads and other delicacies including dry meats and fruit. The short answer is no. Due to the high temperatures achieved within the oven dome, any residual food within the oven is burnt off. You can scrape off extra food using a pizza peel an accessory available from The Stone Bake Oven Company shop. Simply clear the ashes out of the oven once they have cooled, see the oven manual.
If you ARE NOT in a smoke control area, you are not required to have an exemption, and therefore, it is legal to use your Stone Bake Oven.
If YOU ARE in a smoke restricted area, and you locate your Primo, Mezzo or Vento Oven outdoors and not as part of a building/house (as used outside) it is an exempt appliance.
The ‘Ready To Go’ oven range requires no building work, the ovens simply fit together without the need for adhesive. If you choose not to build your own base you can purchase a weatherproof Primo or Mezzo Oven Stand from The Stone Bake Oven Company. If you wish to place the oven on your own custom made base (brickwork, blockwork or wood), ensure it is built correctly with the appropriate health and safety measures by using our build manuals from our Manuals and Videos sections.
The ‘Build Your Oven’ oven kits do require a small amount of simple building work and is designed to be built in. An insulation layer is to be added to the oven dome and floor, with a rendered, bricked or other enclosure to finish. Your oven kit will provide all you need to seal and insulate your oven, just ask your local handyman or bricklayer to help with the render/brick finish. Our oven range utilises Micro Mesh Technology exclusive to the Stone Bake Oven Company. This means despite continual expansion and contraction from the heating the cooling process, your oven maintains its structural integrity for years to come, making it ideal for those who may want to move house in the future, and take their oven with them.
The ovens aesthetic designs can be altered to suit your tastes in design. Further insulate the oven by simply layering insulation and rendering it or bricking around it.
